Bob Dylan was a bit tipsy himself (he played the main stage right before Dave/Trey) I was making jokes that he was backstage matching shots with Dave Matthews. Saying..."Give me that, ya snot nosed kid...I ruled the world when you were still crapping your paints!"
Then Dave came out in obvious intoxication of some 'kind'...I was like..."Hey I'm right!"
I didn't realize who 'Praxis' were at the time (Keyboard from Phish, Brain from Primus, and Bucket Head!), so I didn't make the show, but from our camp we could hear all the stages. They played the late night on Friday after Dave(starting at midnight). It was 4 different bands on 4 different stages. The whole place was well thought-out, and set up so there was no bleed-through from stage to stage...within the fest...but back at our camp everything was squished together into a sonic psychedelic jelly!
Hell....I was straight and it was tripp'n me out...I can't imagine what some people were hearing! LOL!
It was a trip to be a part of a collective conscious on such a mass scale. Everybody was on one mindset. Everybody knew were were all appart of something special, and were there for the same thing...it was kinda like a holliday. You could say "Happy Bonnaroo" to some random person, and they would smile and say it back.
It was beautiful.
...or...maybe it was just the M U S H R O O M S ?
Who's to know?
