hello friends

well it has been a while, hasn't it! i'm sure you have all been waiting with bated breath for my latest entry, arising at the crack of dawn to check your friends pages in the hope that i have presented something of interest. well, the wait is over.

i have been tinkering (one might say pottering) about the last few months, finishing off assessment for the year and welcoming the summer with open arms. i also have been doing some project work with visible ink which is rather fun and different.

i think i have realised why i don't post here often. when i write is usually quite a personal affair, with a good pad of paper and nice inky pen. computer screens to me have connotations of professionalism, deadlines and formality. when i write it's generally a stream of consciousness thing and then heavily rewritten. as kurt vonnegurt said "writing is rewriting". too true.

since my last post i have also read "a drink with shane macgowan". simply put, his defacto wife recorded a number of their conversations and compiled them into the most funny, surreal, interesting and compelling read i have come across in quite a while.

i really just feel like taking these three months off work and imposing a complete immersion of myself into the world of popular culture. all the films, novels and records i have wanted to absorb and more. it would be preferable to immerse myself somewhere near the beach. i wonder what the readers of this blog (yes, you) would like to do for three months? i would like to think that some of you would share my desire for such a retreat.

i like one dollar tuesdays at my local video store. i chose the edukators for this night's entertainment; i am rather looking forward to it. however i do have pangs of guilt for not taking the trip over to trash.

not long until i depart for japan. joy! three weeks of enjoyment. we must start booking accommodation however (things to do list) oh and i got my hair cut today; i have a sneaking suspicion that it will be high maintenance and one part looks a *little* too short. i will prevail and my hair will grow back i'm sure.

well. this. was . a long. post . was it not?! everyone should really listen to jens lekman, if not magnetic fields. i have told you ALL of this before.

be well
