[Konoe looks a bit sleep-deprived and in need of haircut, but otherwise everything seems to be in order. He's set up his fans to sit on a table, and as it's turned on he backs away with his hand on his hip and a satisfied nod, before coming back to crouch in front of the camera.]

Long time no see? I apologize if anyone's been looking for me, I've ( Read more... )

[There's a rare sort of bitterness in his eyes.] I was told I've been looking for someone I shouldn't. But she was my friend before I knew anything like that, I wanted to know where she'd gone....

I didn't get much further than her household's door... they do seem stricter there, she was right. Then Chuuhi's owner told my house's owner and to make up for it I had to stay inside for a while. That's... all. [He doesn't realize how easy he's had it. Or maybe he does. The quiet's given him time to think.] They didn't tell me but... I could tell she wasn't in there, either, as close I got.

I had a very nice time. Thank you for being so accommodating. Your garden was lovely.

--What was the mysteriously watery thing you wanted to name, anyway? Could you describe it to me?

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself as much as I did. [He laughs softly, trying to think of where to start] Well... it's like an octopus. It's bigger than it was when I first found it on me, but it's still small enough for me to hold without trouble. Eight legs, a dark color... like a very dark purple. It likes to touch everything near it, and it eats a lot.

Maybe you could name it off of one of the purple flowers. Violet, Lilac, Heliotrope.

[He seems enthusiastic about it.] Good idea...! Helio... maybe that one.

Trouble?

[Have a genuinely concerned look. Seems like it's fairly easy to get into trouble in this place. Kiyoha even got ... he shakes his head as his thoughts wander and he does his best to get back on track.]

Sorry to hear about your friends... maybe they were able to finally go home?

[His smiles returns, going back home, wouldn't that be nice? His expression changes of course as Konoe brings the tiny thing with tentacles into view.]

What is that thing!?

[He's not sure if he should be surprised or intrigued. He's just never seen anything like it so he's not too sure what to think.]

It's... nothing. [He's unsure how to react immediately. Kyouko he hopes was sent home wish granted, but Leaks... he's felt terrible thinking so, but he prays the elder cat's wish went unheard if it was at their world's expense.] But thank you, Alphonse.

And that's... I'm not sure either! It looks like an octopus, but I know it's something different, since I've... met an older relative.... [Apparently that encounter is an embarrassing memory to speak of, and there's a certain pink to his face.] And I didn't notice it was with me until it was too late to put it back.

Seems like it's always nothing.

[The part of him that is eager to help others, eternally disappointed. He does his best to force a smile, and it comes easily when hears the thank you. Of course, such conversation is easy to look aside when the strange creature it brought up again.]

Does it even have a mouth or a beak? It seems to just be all tentacles... older? There are more!? Are they really hard to keep track of? It seems like something that might be easily noticeable if it follows you home ... nothing like a cat or a dog.

Sorry. [He can catch a little of that, and he can't help apologizing. He doesn't want to worry him needlessly....]

But... actually I haven't tried to look at it that closely. It's only just gotten big enough for me to try. It started out very small, and clung to my back all the way home... by then I put it in a cup of water, and the more I fed it, it grew. The others I saw were enormous, I'm not sure what I'll do if it'll really grow so big.... [He stands to retrieve his Fans again so that he can bring the camera closer to the basin.] Would you like to see it?

Why not name it for the friend that is gone?

[He smiles despite the worry on his face.]

I've thought of it... but somehow I'm afraid to. What if something bad happened to it? [He softens, looking to her with amusement.] And her name was Kyouko. I'll have known three if I name it after her...

[But then it seems to give him an idea.]

Maybe its name could be a number...?

Hmm... What about Hachiko, if it's a girl?

... How would you tell? [It's certainly another thing he's wondered, though he hasn't been eager to check.]

I thought I'd heard of a couple people keeping the things as pets.

[But um...they aren't really cute, ya know?]

What do you feed it?

[Still something to talk to ;u; ]

Fish! And sometimes things with shells.

Do you think he has enough room? He's going to get a lot bigger, isn't he?

[He looks like something that would be more like food than a pet.]

I wouldn't be surprised... I'm already thinking of where it'll go once it gets too big to stay in here. [He did consider eating it initially... but by now he doesn't have the heart to, and speaking of getting rid of it at all gives him a thoughtful frown.] It's already moved twice. I had it in a bucket before I found this thing by the bathhouse.
