[She's quiet, sitting upon the other end of the room as he makes the announcement, legs curled up to her chest. The bit about destruction of the apartment makes her look away, but silence reigning a few moments as a sense of guilt steals her words.

After a moment though she licks her lips, lightly clearing her throat.]

What can I do?

[The feed shut off, he glances over to her. His expression shifts from the latter half of the announcement to something more calm. The air still feels heavy from the other day, creating a somber atmosphere within his apartment.

He crosses the short distance between them, a hand resting on her shoulder. It's not your fault, Yuuki.]

Is there something you'd prefer to do? [Knowing her, all he's sure of is that she'll want to contribute.]

[Her hand lifts, fingers softly falling around the comfortable warmth, lids drifting shut for an indulgent moment, simply breathing in his scent.

She shakes her head.]

What's needed most now? If someone needs an escort or is in trouble...

I think surveillance is the main necessity for right now. Keeping an eye on the network is a good idea as well.

[It's a bit difficult to tell what's going on beyond the general proximity of the building. So far, though, at least things seem to be all right. ]

Good. [a pause.] How bad d'you need it protected?

There've been no immediate threats up to this point, but I'd rather avoid any risks, if possible.

I'll head over and donate a little magic. [it's the least she can do- and all she can afford to spare right now.]

[a beat] -have you been doing all right?

[Sometime later, Kallen returns to the safe-house holding a wiggling bundle of towel with one arm and grabbing on to a medium-sized sack with her free hand.]

I brought some food and extra supplies over, Zero.

[If one looks closely, something black and furry pokes out of the bundle.]

Thanks.

[Goes to retrieve the bag, blinking at the cat within her arms.]

Shinkirou, right? [...to which Zero is given a grumbling sound in turn. Animals don't exactly like the presence of vampires;; It makes Zero a sad boy..]

How are things out there?

[She nods, bringing out her hand to stroke the kitty's head.]

Oh, and some herbs are inside the bag just in case. You'll never know if you need them. Surprisingly, it's not so bad outside.

[A pause.]

It could be much better, though.

Good. Earlier was worse.

Agreed. [So much stupidity on display.] It'd be nice if we at least had some idea of how long we'll be dealing with this.

Not at the moment. There haven't been many who have stopped by. [fortunately, of course] The situation is still unpredictable, though.

[He nods. It's appreciated.]

I won't. You'll be kept in mind, Inoue. [pauses] - What about you. Everything all right?

[It's been a couple days since she was first brought to the safe house, and while during that time she spent in a room dividing her time between brooding and napping, it would appear that she finally has decided to emerge and return to the world of the living.

She's still far from looking happy. Or cheerful. Or anything at all really that didn't seem to make it all too easy to picture a dark rain cloud following around above her where ever she went.

Having seen his post, Mai went out to find the person that must be in charge of this whole safe-house situation. She could have just messaged him, but, meh, for some reason she thought it would be better to face him directly.

And after a couple minutes of searching, she finally just stopped and called out, her voice raised but lacking any other emotion aside from annoyed impatience.]

Hey.

[She pauses, and realizes in that moment when she tried to recall his name that she had no idea what it was.]

Guy in charge.

[Her next pause comes about because her mind choose to bring to her

[There's only so much monitoring that one can do on a relatively calm situation. Of course, there's no saying what could happen later on, or even within the next hour. Any boredom has been more or less staved off by said surveillance, as well as keeping Yuuki company.

He notices her presence not long before she spoke up.

...and feels a touch amused, maybe a tiny bit irritated, too. It's been ages since anyone really confused he and Ichiru, although Xander seemed to as well. Is it really that difficult, though? Ichiru has longer hair, no piercings, and doesn't have the hunter's charm practically covering the left side of his throat...

He replies simply, and right to the point. Similarly, little emotion colors his voice, however more aloof than annoyed.]

[Yes, yes all those details would make a difference to someone that cared. Mai did not. There were lots of people that she couldn't keep straight, and most of them had very little resemblance to one another, but perhaps meeting the brothers in person, or seeing them next to one another would make her blunder so obvious that she'll never make the mistake again. Maybe.

His tone didn't seem to put her off, after all she normally sported a similar one herself. If anything, it was refreshing to the concerned, helpful and happy sounding people she normally comes across.

She turns to face him, her arms crossing as she fixes him with a level stare.]
