How...why?
[The feed starting, however unintentional, with Yuuki bending forward before a window. Clasping at her chest she shakes her head, disbelief fleeting across her expression. She inhales but the breath catches, stopping in her throat. Pain fills her eyes as much as horror.]
She can't have--she wouldn't. All of a sudden her presence just---

'Doesn't matter', he says.
[Destroying someone's residence is no little thing. Gently she rests her head to the warm skin of his forehead, eyes drifting shut. Her hand within his grasp clasps to hold him in return. Is is healthy, how much she always craves for and wants him. That large portion of her heart solely reserved for him.
I never thought that we could be anything more than enemies...
Things are so different, now. The tiny trail of tears continues down her cheeks, even as she smiles against him.]
I don't understand how it is that even despite myself, I somehow have you by my side.
[Softly she leans forward, inhaling on a shaky breath. Gentle lips press against his mouth, a short kiss that draws searchingly for him. It's painful just how much she can want to consume every inch of him, and yet still want more after. Does he even realize? Just how much he means to her? Is it even possible to express in words?

Even if he knows that such precious words are the truth, having felt it in the very blood she gives to him, to hear them stills his breath and the vice about his heart tightens that much further. Even if he knows, there's a part of him that continues to try and force those walls up. To resist, even if unconsciously so. ]
Yuuki...
[Fingers curl against her back, Yuuki's name edged in a quiet, subtle finely splintered plea that sticks to the back of his throat, just as his heart does.
A tremor of an exhale, his breath soft upon returning the kiss, words uttered to her lips still wet with tears. Careful and quiet, as if simply admitting the phrase aloud will shatter at the slightest touch. ]
...I love you, too, Yuuki...
[Yet, since when had trying to console her become this?]
