His blackened hand goes to the inked side of his neck on instinct, not thinking much about the actions. His throat feels hot, dry, and persistently aching, fingers tensed, scraping at the skin. He can hear his heart pulsing hard between his ears, distracting.
Kallen, however, is also a distraction. Perhaps a better one, only he doesn't like the idea of her seeing him in such a state.]
