THEMES EXPLANATION + EXTENSION

Feb 23, 2016 23:42

As the interpretative themes haven't been clear enough, I'm posting these suggestions of how you can interpret the themes. I would like to remind you that YOU DON'T HAVE TO KNOW THE TV-SHOWS/MOVIES that make up the themes. It's free interpretation and you can icon ANY GUY/CHARACTER YOU WANT so you have no restrictions about what you can do. The second part is more technical, so that is explained in the original post (if you want more textures for inspiration just comment in this post).

Supernatural: Icon a character with magical/supernatural ability, maybe. So any character that's not strictly human will do. You can also insert the word in your text, if you want to use a normal character.

The Dark Knight: I'd interpret this with shadows, darkness, black/dark colors. You can also icon a knight character in the more literal sense and match him with dark colors. (EX.Guy in a dark suit).

Happy Days: Happiness. Smiles, laughs. Simple theme. Or, if you don't wanna do this the most direct way, you can use vintage coloring.

Lost: Your guy feeling sad, desperate, lost, confused. If you want to take inspiration from the show (BUT IT'S NOT COMPULSORY) you can icon them in a nature environment, maybe.

Orange Is The New Black: you can do this using the color orange, maybe in contrast with black. Or maybe a very dark icon with orange accents.

True Blood: You can do this showing wounds, blood, using the color red, showing passionate characters or, if you are actually into vampire fandoms, you can icon of them (but it's not compulsory).

Brave: Your guy/character being brave.

Seven: You can do this incorporating the number 7 into the icon, multiple your character (or image) seven times or just use lyrics/words with the seven word in it.

Funny Face: exactly what it says :) A funny face.

Sex&The City: You can do this in different ways. For example, iconing a sensual, passionate moment for your guy/character (love scene, sexy photoshoot, etc) or focus on the city part (your guy out and about, a photoshoot in the city, use stock pictures, etc).

I hope these are a bit clearer now. Since no one submitted so far, I've decided to extend the round for another week. The new deadline is on MARCH 1ST.
