Everything's turning to white
A miserable wretch in Singapore has just crushed his family by taking his daughter's new kitten to be destroyed without telling anyone.
There were some problems with the kitten, named Tiffy, settling in to the house. She was a stray, about a month old, found by the daughter and brought home. After some initial territorial issues with their other cat, she was given to a foster mother for a while, but had returned home and was now getting along famously with him. But being such a young kitten, Tiffy was still learning to use her litter box, and the father refused to tolerate this. Tiffy had to go. The daughter told him she'd arranged for a friend to take Tiffy the day after tomorrow, but this wasn't good enough for the father. While his daughter was out, and without telling anyone, he took Tiffy down to the local shelter. He lied to the people there, telling them that Tiffy had been found in their apartment corridor, and nobody wanted her.The foster mum found out the following afternoon and rushed down there early next morning, but it was too late - Tiffy had already been killed.

It's a confusing time when you realise that someone you love and/or trust, or are supposed to love and/or trust, is partly sociopathic. On the one hand there's the confirmation that you haven't been imagining things, and that clarity that comes from finally having a proper term to describe someone's actions with. On the other hand, it will be a long time before you can think of that person as anything else than the result of those actions.
