looking for enterprise-level website best practices

Mar 18, 2009 11:29

I dunno who within my blog readers might be able to help with this, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask. On a current work project I need to put together some "best practices" as well as examples from current websites. So, have you seen examples of the following things anywhere? If so, please let me know.

  • Comparison Tool: When looking to compare products in order to make a buying decision, where have you had the best comparison experience? These comparison tools exist on lots of sites, so I'm really just looking for outstanding (in any manner) experiences here.

  • How to Buy experience: This is an experience that exists mostly at an enterprise-level (big corporations or organizations) and not commonly on consumer-level product sites. Buying a product or service for a huge organization is no simple matter, and it often requires help from experts. If you've had any experience with this sort of "how to buy" explanation on a website (directing you to local representatives, consultation phone number, live chat, etc), I'd like to know where and if there is anything you liked about it.

Oh, and, of course, I'm on a relatively tight schedule, so suggestions in the next 24 hours are greatly appreciated. Suggestions in the next week or so are also helpful and appreciated, but will not have as big of an impact as those gotten in the next 24 hours.

Thanks in advance for your help. :)
