Sometimes, little things

In a fit of coincidences, today saw both a bank holiday for me and an appointment for m-g to get his pre-school immunisations. It was even conveniently timed to allow a relaxing morning for me while he was at nursery, followed by a much-requested trip to see the dinosaur exhibit at Edinburgh Zoo.

However, being a bank holiday, of course, this means that the place was rammed with cars, leaving me parked in an area which was free until 4pm; this is somewhat maddening when you're trying to hustle a four-year-old down the road at 4.15pm and being greeted with the sight of a traffic attendant getting ready to write up a ticket...

...which he promptly stopped doing once he saw me dragging a small child in my wake, then waved me on my way.

So, it's not often you would hear anyone say this, but hurrah for (Edinburgh) traffic attendants having the latitude to allow some breathing space for circumstances.
