Iowa is great, politically. We have legal gay marriage, a competitive legislature, and, I thought until recently, a relative lack of bible thumpers.
BUT.

There was recently a controversy over bus ads in Des Moines. The controversial ad? "Don't beleive in God? You are not alone".
Chet Culver, our governor, called this statement "offensive". I guess all us Atheists are supposed to just keep our mouths shut and not talk to each other, either.
I voted for this guy in 2006. I won't repeat that mistake.
