...And now what?
So. I've cancled my EQ accounts.
On 9/5, they patched a change to some very basic stuff. They made the windows resizeable. They didn't do it right, and the only resizeablity the windows give you is if you want ot make it smaller, but thats ok, some people like it.
Other people, like me, have just lost 39.76% of my useable space on my interface because of a change in the code that no longer reads the settings in the ini files, and just goes whatever it feels like.
Admiditly, I am useing some old hardware. My monitor turns 12 years old next month. Yes, I should upgrade, but meh. I am comfortable with a desktop size of 1024x768. Prior to this patch, EQ was able to play at 1280x1024, but it would squeeze it down into a window that was 1024x768 in size. This was perfect for me.
Now it will no longer go larger then 1024x768. As a matter of fact, I am unable to get any resolution other then 1028x753. "The window is resizeable!" SoE says. And I respond, "Yes, but only to make it smaller." I can't even get a standard resolution anymore.
So, yeah. In short, I think I'm done with EQ. After spending 6 hours of doing everything I could messing with .ini files and code, I'm tired of dealing with it. I'm voiceing my displeasure with my wallet, and refuse to spend another dime on a Sony product again. From any part of Sony. This includes the Playstation, radios, TV's, games, and whatnot.
Their customer service and support is so lacking that I hope the company colapses.
Anyone got any PvE based MMO's I can replace and get myself readdicted to, aside from Vangaurd, EQ1, EQ2, or FFXII?
WoW is PvP based, as a note, and really dosen't intrest me.
