I wish she was still the girl who loved Raffi and knew all the words to The Little Mermaid

   I went here with
whoresinmybrain on Saturday.
krebstar400 showed up as well. I felt old and unhip for two reasons. First, I didn't know any of the bands playing (all small time, local Portland bands*) and, second, a bunch of the kids looked like this:

Short shorts + hairy legs really only serves to piss me off. It was still lots of fun, though. My new goal is to be a featured band at PDX Pop Now! and be really popular among whatever the next ridiculous looking fashion scheme is. While we were sitting in a bar (and about the time I was really craving a cigarette), this guy who works for Camel came by and gave us each two packs of Camel Filters. It was magical. I fell off the wagon pretty hard but, the next morning, I climbed back on and I think I'll stay there since my throat felt like hell.**
I might go down to Eugene tomorrow. I apparently missed my one chance to see Advrb since I thought he was playing tomorrow.*** SO, to remedy this, I'll be attempting to see Drew perform in Cinderella Or It's Okay To Be Yourself in Amazon Park on... probably Wednesday.
And, finally, I saw a store in neighboring Milwaukee that appears to have nothing but Star Wars stuff in it. It's closed on Sundays so I'm going to make a special trip back to investigate and probably spend $170 on an out of circulation action figures from 1996. Jealous?

*We've established, during this trip, that indie rock is a lot like microbrews. The more obscure or homemade sounding/tasting it is, the more popular you are if you know about it. Also, talking at length about either to someone who doesn't care is one of the cruelest things you can do. I say this as someone who has been rambled at about microbrews and who has rambled on about indie rock no one cares about.
**Camels are gross.
***With PWRFL PWR (aka the annoying idiot from the eSurance commercials) who, I just found out, is Asian. I was pissed.
