Hello all, its been a bit, but now im residing at a place where the internet flows free and accessible all the times. Maybe that means I will write more updates. So I left south Florida, and the balmy 70 degrees t-shirt weather to come here, a small college town called carrboro in the great state of north carolina. Im hoping for snow, but not holding my breath. During my stay in Florida I got to reconnect with a lot of friends and listen to exciting new musical ventures they have undertaken. My friends Veronica heard her baby's heartbeat and shes super excited, but not excited as me. JK! Also, I think that my pal Cody(veronicas partner) is going to construct an Earthbag home in the yard where they live, for my other friend and her kid to stay in. This is like a sandbag dome smeared with a clay mixture to created a smooth effect, they look like anthills! Im excited about that prospect.
so anyway, I had a nice goodbye bonfire, and now im here at my friend Melissa's house after a long day of flying.
Melissa lives in a co-op. Its apartment buildings, but its cooperatively owned and run, which is really cool. I haven't met anyone yet, but Im excited to.
In north Carolina I will attempt to:
check out the Public Allies Americore program
see Gillian Welsh in concert YA!
hang out with new friends jes and nick and jes lives in the woods in a yurt which is super cool
move this co-ops compost pile to a new spot
maybe travel to Asheville to see mountains and stay in a cozy shack.
BE IN NATURE!! trails, hiking, etc.
try to stay warm.also, upcoming plans include Philly, NYC to meet friends from FL for spring break 2000 party-till-you-drop-a-thon
and Chicago to help make the circus come alive with paint and cardboard for the CIW mass protest against MCDs.
love to you all.
