kisses

HAIL TO WHATEVER YOU FOUND IN THE SUNLIGHT THAT SURROUNDS YOU

Another week. with quite a few changes and improvement on my part. see, i have this new thing where I get up at about 5am, then azille picks me up at round about 5:25 and we go torture ourselves with yoga or spinning or any other such absurdities at the student gym. this is beneficial for quite a few reasons. despite the obvious potential physical benefits, it also forces me to get up early and go sleep early. I have a good 2 hours of headspace to contemplate my days before anybody else has had their morning coffee, which feels quite grand.
It's our residence ball in a few days, and i spent a few minutes each day at the local tanning salon. listening to my ipod and soaking up some artificial summer rays.
the first public appearance then came on wednesday when marchet announced that she would be invading our town for a few hours of drinking. such occasions always win over my alcohol addicted idea of a good time. so I gathered a few items of clothing from girls around my res, and put on a brave face and landed at het begijnhof, where i was met with a not-too-clever combination of wine and vodka. this is where things started going south and I couldn't help but start my evening on a semi-negative vibe. firstly news broke of martin's non-return to stellenbosch, then justin called on a request for genee's number and shared the fantastic news of his promotion...feels a bit weird not being able to be there for him at such a big moment in his life.  This was followed on arrival at bohemia/mystics by a run-in with a broken-heart, a touch of unrequested politics and a re-telling of my past relationship from an external biased source. I left the party at 12pm. couldn't stand it anymore.
THursday came and went with lectures on animation, and a project assigned which i still have to complete (save the fact that its due tomorrow!!!). took my time on friday after spinning classes reading at the coffee shop and meeting up with various folks for word-exchanging and a cup of pukka chai. then spent two hours at hospice shop with pieter. some lady who is my size donated her entire wardrobe which include the most beautiful seventies' dresses.  I bought 5. and a shitload of accesories and pins and shindangles...
my mother met a few exchange students from america on her flight from jo'burg to cape town and asked moa and will to entertain them in the form of a friday night braai. this ended rad as my mother bought a few bottles of wine, ciders and I made dacquiries, we braai'ed, had snacks and sweets and sat around with a bunch of great friends telling them where to go and what to do with their stay. really beautiful cool girls.
after most of the party left. christo, myself and botes sat on the floor drinking some leftover liquor at which time jean informed us that there was a bit of a houseparty at his abode and we missioned there. mostly highschool kids and a few older kids. we sat outside on a couch and drunkly sang old favourites like dashboard confessional, etc. then I kissed a highschool boy. it was a good kiss, so no regrets then.
however, this signalled a lack of composition on my part and botes drove me home. saturday i ran around the shopping mall in search for something to wear to aforementioned ball, leading to no avail. ugh.
saturday night minnie made me an awesome supper, and today was another mission for dresses and accesories. oh, and I am now the proud owner of a credit card! bet you want to be my friend now, huh?
spent the afternoon at marchet's and now I'm back in stellenbosch, still haven't completed my assignment. but fuck it. the dog ate my hypothetical homework.
adieu.
