Beatitudes. Who knows them? In the movie, Mother Teresa did represent the beatitudes by the presence and condition of poor people. She showed how ill-fated the poor people were during her time. These unfortunate people were sick and were near already to the state of death. She manifested those who were in deep sadness and hunger. She desired these unlucky people to be happy and to be aware of the presence of God. She wanted them to become much more alive, for their existence had importance to the society - like what God manifested.
Mother Teresa, known by most as the living saint, taught us to be considerate for other people’s condition. She wanted us to be fully aware that these people were in need of deep understanding to survive. In our humanity, she obliged us to relate God with the poor, as God was always the side of all people, even now. For instance, if you would see a beggar across the street, you would have to think of his or her presence, and you had to be aware that God was also there.
In the movie, what made it difficult for Mother Teresa to respond for the needs of the sick and dying was the divine connection among other people in the society. It was really hard if somebody would contradict the plan one has already established. For Mother Teresa’s case, she was always the main target by anyone proclaiming that she was just a disgrace. But the thing that should be known about was that she was leading a group dedicated for the poor, mainly for the ones who were already sick and dying. Like in the movie, everybody including a group of soldiers was trying to stop her so-called “disgrace.” But when Mother Teresa convinced the leader to cease him from contradicting against her plan, by telling that there was more life inside her organization for the poor, it’s nice to see that the leader was convinced. Thus, Mother Teresa had an easier time helping the poor.
Of course, If I were called by God to fulfill a similar mission, I would try my very best to accomplish it. When, for example, I see someone who’s disadvantaged, I would find ways to help him or her. I am desirable to do this because that is God wants me to do. I am willing to follow His teachings because following simply makes me become better. To make my reason brief, I always think of God whenever I accomplish a mission since God is always in my heart and feeling.
