Art Farty Murder

I had another fabulous day of visiting the various venues for the Biennale on Saturday. This time, apart from the facinating displays, I had the added fun of monkeying around with Allly Gatur (gator_)and labial mouse(labbie rat) and ... of course my trusted 4 megapixel (Hannor..ONLY!) brick digital camera. Oh shuddup all you techies! Unfortunately now that I'm at work I cannot post the picture up.... with a spoiler alert of course, in case I get poison emails and get hurled rancid mee siam (mai hum) as I step out of my office today. I thought starting off the day at 11am was a pretty good idea, considering the fact that we had to walk from one venue to the other. I think the most awful thing to do in Singapore is to walk in the heat and himidity in a hurry trying to keep to the same fresh look you had as u got out of the shower. This is the very reason why we don't wear fur in Singapore... not because we support the deported anti-KFC girl from PeTA nor that it's like so yesterday (like I actualy know!).

The first stop was Maghain Aboth Synagogue along Waterloo Street (we planned to cover the venues along this area for the day) which we could not get into... obviously! In fact, I think, if you aren't going in for a religious purpose, you can only get into the synagogue if you parachute in in stealth... that's how tight security was there. So we just went on to the other venues ie Sculpture square, Sri Kishnan temple, Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho, St Joseph's Church and Sts Peter and Paul Church... , I nearly typed that as Peter, Paul And Mary .... yes the trio who sang that pot smoking song Puff the Magic Dragon.

After visiting the religious sights of the arty fart (more farty than arty) area of the city, we made our way to Tanglin Camp which was tucked right into the deepest dodgy corner of the area we refer to as Dempsey. The entire area looks more like an abandoned prison camp rather than an arts venue. I'm sure some of us feel very at home here. Dark humor alert! The displays on the other hand were a different story altogether. They had a pretty neat collection and so we got all touristy and trigger happy with the camera. There was even a display that looked like the devil's office in hell. If you go all the way in, u fall straight into hell! Now how cool is that?! :-)

As we left Tanglin Camp, I experience my first road kill! The poor bird just flew straight down out of nowhere and disappeared somewhere beyond the bonnet (front) of the car and reappeared as a cloud of black, grey and white feathers behind the car thus proving that it was not a crow.... not that this information is any useful to any of us! O_o Anyway, that was NOT a pretty sight and I was devestated...... for a few minutes at least! But it was all made up for by the uber yummy Chocolate Almond cake at Cedele! Mmmmm... heaven! (R.I.P. Birdy).

.... I so need a cure for sweet tooth!

art, friends
