Chronicling the Journey

Jul 11, 2004 14:40

I would like to say to anyone that has never taken a road trip before, be prepared. It is in and of itself an adventure. However, after 23 hours of arduous driving I have finally arrived in R.I.

It's weird being back up here. I had totally forgotten how different the culture of Florida is from here. Everything is so close to everything else. Even the way people drive. I had to fight so hard to get rid of the habit of riding people's behinds while driving. Up here you have no choice but to. Let off of someone and you're bound to get hit by the guy behind you.

The cool thing is I forgot how cool a small town could be. In Florida we have so many corporate embodiments and so few "mom and pop" type stores. You can go into a place and expect to get the same thing for the same price every time. Up here every time you want to eat your making a gamble. Albeit, there is very little bad food up here, that and I can EASILY fill myself up (with good food)for under $5. Something I could NEVER say in Florida.

I'm probably going to start playing tourist soon and posting up pictures so for those of you who actually read my LJ you can get a little taste of R.I.

That's about it for now. Things to do places to see. Later.
