Sophie-Anne and Santana hilariously only met because Sophie-Anne wanted to meet Santana after Santana was a complete asshole to Emily. Since she couldn't deal with her Feelings, she went and fooled around with Stefan to show Emily that she was Fine and Not Gay and Perfectly Okay With Being Herself. It was very noisy and led to Emily just being uncomfortable. She told Sophie-Anne about her roommate problems, and Sophie-Anne ended up interested in Santana.
At the July party, Santana and Sophie-Anne met, and they hit it off. Santana was prepared for it to go bad, but Sophie-Anne, as far as what Laura told me, was just interested in seeing what Santana was like. They flirted a bit, but Santana ended up dating Emily ... until she broke up with her, because she sucks at being in relationships with people and Emily had her update, where Santana was completely insensitive. Priding herself on getting out of the relationship, she went and started fooling around with Sophie-Anne. It was a pretty one-dimensional relationship not meant to be anything but two hot people without feelings for each other making out. The problem is, Santana has always been dating people and screwing them without having any feelings so easily because she is not attracted to or capable of that with men! However, she was doing a fine job of it with Sophie-Anne.
Until she died. After that, she went to Sophie-Anne to look into the vampire thing anyway, because she's felt weak and vulnerable her entire time in camp. Jennifer beat her down early on. Roxie punched her. People have made it very clear that someone from Lima Heights Adjacent would not work. When Santana and Rachel were talking about her bullying tendencies, it actually made Santana super uncomfortable because she now has a heightened awareness of how useless that is. She doesn't like having to deal with it. (On top of, obviously, not wanting to talk about her feelings.) So anyway, that thread happened! And then Emily got fed off, Santana found out, and being protective of her girl who she wasn't dating but was with because Santana is a mess, she went after Sophie-Anne to tell her that Emily was off limits.
And then she got turned.
The thing is, their relationship as it is and how it might always be is that Santana had all her choice taken from her and now she's a vampire and she's not even stronger. Like I think she could take Jennifer, but Roxie beat her ass and so can Sophie-Anne still and basically, she's powerless. She can't go out in daytime, she can't go back home, and if she did, she'd just watch Brittany grow old and die. Santana is a wreck. Sophie-Anne currently stands at the center of that and Santana has been desperate to break her down, but the issue is that Sophie-Anne is ... old, and also very good at breaking Santana down in return.
The two of them did have a moment during the "will you turn me?" conversation, but Santana doesn't even care anymore. Sophie-Anne is a weakness, and Santana wants it to go away. But every time she chips at Sophie-Anne's armor, the woman ends up having something else and ... Santana can't deal.
How is Rachel dealing with the news of her previous relationship in camp, and is it making her more conflicted about her Jesse feelings?
