I think not being able to talk to him during the invisible stunt really made her realize that she considered him a really special friend. She missed talking to him in person a lot! Emails were fine and dandy, but it's... not the same. So she was super happy when it finally wore off, and if she hadn't gone around scaring everyone she ran into first, Hanna would have probably been the first person she went to see. THEY COULD HAVE SHENANIGANS AGAIN. It was all very exciting.
Anyway so Annie is a very... codependent person. And while she has gotten somewhat better at strutting out and doing things for herself only, it's. Still yes. She bases a lot of what she's worth on her relationships with other people. It's part of the reason why she, like what I said in my reply to Ankh, is more hesitant to tell friends about the dead thing than she is with strangers. She's worried about reactions! It's why it took her so long to eventually tell Hanna about it. And... Hanna's reaction basically really reinforced that idea to her, actually, so whoops. So now she is even more nervous about telling people she had known for a long time versus someone she had just met. Annie also probably stands like an extra foot or two away from him now because of the invisible incident. She carries around the idea that OH NO I'M A BAD FRIEND I KEEP MAKING THINGS TERRIBLE AND AWKWARD FOR HIM NOOO '-' so she is being super careful to make sure nothing bad happens. But yes, she is never going to stop blaming herself for that, especially since at first she really did think she had killed him. But she has pretty much given up on saying that to him or Conrad or anyone because they always say it's not her fault. She's the kind of person who likes to fix her mistakes though! So she is still trying to figure out the best way to make it up to him for that that isn't stand as far away from him as possible in a way that won't be considered rude.
Also another thing is, again, the fact that he doesn't say anything about himself. And their most recent thread where he is very obviously hiding something about Jennifer is making that stand out even more. Annie is the type of person that when she has any type of relationship, she throws everything ever into it. She share things! Personal things!! But then there's Hanna who skates around everything ever. Everything that Annie knows about his life before camp is that he can do magic and that it's sort of his fault Conrad is a vampire and he has a dashing zombie friend who is his partner. AND. THAT'S IT. And at first, she was pretty okay with it? Because whatever, he might not be comfortable with telling me this stuff, I get it. But now it's to a point where he knows so much about her life, and she knows absolutely nothing of his that it's... kind of annoying.
