TEN random things about me

10. The person I've known longest out of all y'all is Roman. I was sorta friends with him from third to fifth grade, but we met again in ninth grade and have been tight ever since. A lot of you already know that.

9. My favorite color is red, but when I was nine or so, I was looking up at the sky at around 7pm, and it was the most gorgeous shade of blue I've ever seen in my entire life, and after standing and staring for at least twenty minutes, I said "that is my favorite color." I later looked it up, and it said it was slate blue, but it was definitely a deeper shade than that. I think it was probably a similar shade to this other time I proclaimed my favorite color (lol, summer of 2002 when I was swimming with Tanya and my blue shirt got wet, and it turned this awesome shade of blue). I've also been known to love anything silver, but my second favorite color is gold. Other favorites include my favorite movie being West Side Story, and my favorite book being The Neverending Story.

8. My first-ever crush on a guy was only like four years ago. Before that (and to an extent, after that), I was practically in love with Sarah Cohen, and before that, I had crushes on a bunch of other girls. But the most sexual thought I ever had about any of them was in the fifth grade when I had a dream I was making out with Jillian Moran. She was hot. I am gay.

7. My best friend who is not on LiveJournal is my sister, Jetta. She is the most fabulous twelve-year-old of all time, and she could probably out-cool a lot of you. No shade!

6. I sing. A lot. In fact, it's going to be a good part of my career (yes, I'm a singing/dancing/acting fag). I also the play the trumpet, though not so much.

5. From the ages of four through six, I was obsessed with math. As in, I used to love copying math problems from the book (I was in second grade math in first grade, they would move my desk, it made a lot of noise, lol) and doing them in my journal. When I was four, I knew the times tables up to twelve... I remember walking through the hallways to pre-k drilling them with my father, it was fun. Lol, and now I can't stand the stuff. Well that's not true, I just can't stand how they teach it... Anyway. When I was five through about... eight, I was obsessed with geography. I had a big world map up in my parents' bedroom, and I drew lines all over it, making up stories about traveling (this habit frequently crossed paths with my then-obsession with the Power Rangers) and copying over an entire geography book when I was six. From the ages of six till... well kinda now, but the obsession ended when I was about fourteen... I was crazy about cars. I knew all of them (still kinda do...) and when I was nine, I went through a huge process in deciding which new car we were going to buy (I decided on the Subaru Legacy)... we ended up buying a used car, which I protested because I thought we were just inheriting someone else's problems. I was right. I used to be at my Grandma's house all the time, reading Consumer Reports just for the car comparisons... I am a big fucking geek. From the ages of eleven to... well, now, but I stopped REALLY caring when I was about fifteen... it was videogames. But that wasn't an obsession to learn about them, it was just how I spent all my time. Final Fantasy VII. Xenogears. w00t w00t. And from fourteen to now, the obsession is boys. And yeah, singing and changing the world and friends and stuff. Yeah. That, in a nutshell, is my life.

4. I know people living in Sri Lanka, and I'm really worried about them. See, I've had three babysitters in my life, and they've all been Sri Lankan. From one to seven years old, there was Padma... she was and is absolutely fabulous. Nicest woman ever. And her son became my best friend of course... that's Sanjaya. You might know him from Stuy '03. She's still in Brooklyn. Then for a year or so there was Priyangika... she was nice, but she doesn't really stand out. I think she lives in Maryland now. But from eight to ten years old, there was Lalani. She was really great. She was mainly here for Jetta, cause I didn't really need a babysitter as much as she did... but Lalani had a daughter named Diva who became Jetta's friend... she's fourteen now. They moved back to Sri Lanka five years ago, because Lalani is a marine biologist, and they wanted to go home, and... I haven't spoken to them since then. I hope so much that they're alright.

3. I have never been outside the US before. And I rarely leave NYC. Not out of principle or anything... I just never do.

2. At one point or another, I have had some form of a crush on nine of you. Discuss. And if my calculations are correct (Hmm. This reminds me. I wonder how Etai's doing. That asshole), I've already told seven of you. None of the crushes are really still happening. Especially the five that are on girls. Ha ha ...ha.

1. Aside from my many mansions and apartments all around the globe, when I have enough money, I'm going to buy back 2423 Ave I Bklyn NY 11210 and raise my kids there.

NINE places I have visited...

9. Washington DC

8. Baltimore

7. Oakland

6. Los Angeles

5. Wherever my third cousin Milton lives in Pennsylvania... (All I remember is "Oooh! The refrigerator makes ice cubes!!!")

4. Wherever the Liberty Science Center is in New Jersey... (Told you, I never go anywhere.)

3. Upstate New York. Schroon Lake three times, apple picking once or twice, visiting a couple Colleges, and visiting our friend Ann in Eastchester. Shut up Roman, it's upstate.

2. I am really running out of ideas here... Staten Island? It's far away!

1. gear_riot's mother's sweet cooch. It's so good, it deserves #1.

EIGHT things I want to do before I die

8. Be the most famous person ever

7. Save the world

6. Find my true love, have children, and be happy forever

5. Own a BMW M5 and/or a Chrysler 300. Have you seen that shit? It's hottt.

4. Try everything on every sushi menu ever, and every bubble tea menu ever

3. Go to Japan, among other places (like, everywhere else in the world)

2. This probably doesn't belong at #2, but... watch Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. And the three other movies that are also supposedly coming out based on the game. And play the other five parts of the Xenogears saga.

1. Go to a good school, have a successful career, get everything on this list done, and live FO'EVA

SEVEN ways to win my heart

7. Care about the things I care about - changing the world, equality, etc.

6. Have a sense of humor, and be willing to spend some nights watching really good movies.

5. Don't be an asshole. This sounds simple in theory, but in practice it rarely happens.

4. Love NYC, but show me places I've never seen. You know, some of that Aladdin shit.

3. Care about my dreams and goals, but have your own, and never give up on them.

2. Make sense. Again, sounds simple in theory... I guess this is my way of saying we have to "click" or whatever. We need to get each other, or what's the point.

1. You could love me, I guess.

SIX things I believe in

6. Myself. A lot.

5. My sister. Again, she's awesome, and whatever she plans to do, she will do it with gusto. Hey, that's my name! Kind of.

4. I'd like to believe in humanity...

3. Liberalism

2. Post-Structuralism

1. Paula Cole. Which is to say, I Believe In Love.

FIVE things I’m afraid of

5. Being run over by things that can't stop in time

4. Hate

3. Death. Which kinda includes #5

2. Not accomplishing my goals

1. I don't know. I kinda have this fear of things that smile when they shouldn't... like when I was four, I was scared of leaves because the veins go... up... and they look like their smiling, and it's creepy, and... shut up. Then I was scared of this African collage we had on our wall that had a grinning goat on it, and I think the goat had a mustache... and then I was scared of this poster we have of Cary Grant where it's just like his disembodied head, and he's smiling... oh, and the Coney Island Luna-green-face-thing. It kinda looks like the Cary Grant poster, actually. Yeah.

FOUR of my favorite items in my bedroom

4. My bed. It's the only clean thing in the room, and after I had to sleep on a couch for the first year we lived here, a bed was a welcome change. I do feel oddly at home now when I sleep on that couch, though.

3. My brown blanket. It's the softest thing in the entire universe, and its like forty years old, and I'm sleeping with it forever.

2. My teddy bear, Baba, and my stuffed guinea pig, Cabby. And the other multitudes of stuffed animals I have somewhere. Jetta got Baba as a birthday present ten years ago from our grandfather, and I remember when we named it... I asked her "what should we name it?" and she couldnt talk. So eventually I was like "wait a second, what is it you call grandpa?" and she goes "Baba." And there it was. Cabby I got a year or two later. Oh yeah, I kinda stole Baba from Jetta (repeatedly) when she first got it, and I eventually made some kind of unfair deal with her to keep it. She's cool with it now.

1. Um... I really don't like my bedroom. The one I had in the last house was better... it was bigger, with more light, and I actually got television reception. We actually only moved two houses down (lol)... so parts of the house are similar. In other words, the bedroom Jetta has now looks EXACTLY like my old room, and my parents wouldnt give it to me because they wanted her to stay close to them. Ugh... it wouldve made the transition a lot easier. I really wanted that room. Grr.

THREE things I do every day

3. Listen to music, most likely.

2. Think about boys

1. Dream, wish, hope

TWO things I am trying not to do right now

2. Think about Columbia, or Bush, or anything worrisome like that

1. Give up

ONE person I want to see right now

1. Lalani.
