While listening to the news last night on the way home from work, they ran a story about how Wi-fi was unsafe.
They basically said that 'research into the effects of Wi-fi have raised concerns over safety, especially for children'
They then had a clip from a single scientist who said how 'flooding an area with radio waves could potentially pose a risk to health'. They mentioned research that had been presented on panorama, and that this is what had caused the panic..
Strange, 'cos the research said that there was NO evidence of any risk, and that the levels of radiation, although three times higher than mobile phone masts, was 600 times lower than the safety limit.
SIX HUNDRED TIMES LOWER.
Is it just me, or is this kind of reporting totally irresponsible?
Maybe we should look into stopping people making these unfounded claims.
(it's not limited to scientific issues either)
