Thoughts on Simon's appearance in "The sense of Wonder"?
Much like a kind of similar post of mine in October, it would be -especially- great if other cosplayers here would be willing to help out. But really, if anyone at all has any ideas, I'd appreciate it a lot. :)
So for Otakon this July/August (hint: that's bolded because I want to meet all of you and nerd out with you, in person, for real), which I'm attending for the first time, I'm probably going to bring... uh... at this point, I'm thinking my 'main' costume will be Simon's uniform from the amazing Parallel Works 2.1, "The sense of Wonder". Sadly I don't know anyone who could be my Nia, especially not on such short notice, but maybe I'll be lucky and someone else will have decided to cosplay from Parallel Works 2.1 too. ):
I might also finish Double K Simon, but that depends on, well, a number of different things, like whether Captain Osaka can make it there... and how strapped for cash I'll end up being after having paid for the con. ):
- The main thing that's bothering me is... well, a hood rather than a simple collar would seem a little strange on a uniform, but ... what is that thing, do you guys think? It seems like there's a hell of a lot of bulk at the back, so I don't really know what else it could be, but at the same time I don't know what purpose a hood would serve...
- Is there any kind of... anything out there as to whether the numbers that the workers are marked with are tattoos, brands, etc.? The reason I ask is that the way I do my special-effects make-up would depend on that -- if it were a tattoo, I'd just paint it on with alcohol-activated body paint. If it's a brand, though, that'd call for a raised scar, so I'd probably have to make a really thin, subtle prosthetic piece out of appropriately-tinted gelatine.
...On that note, what number is it, anyway? ._. I can't really tell too well from scans/screenshots/photos.

A "THE SENSE OF WONDER" GROUP HAS TO HAPPEN. Maybe ... New York Anime Festival this October, depending on who's planning to attend? I'd love to enter the Masquerade with everyone if we managed to at least get, well, Kamina, Yoko and Nia (...I guess there aren't a whole lot more characters besides, and for instance, Lord Genome's purpose is just kind of "lounge in the shadows and look evil"...). Anyone out there that watches this community and would be willing to join in? I'll seriously help everyone involved however I can -- I honestly really want to pull a group together, I think it'd be more than worth the effort.
