Ugh, I've been lazy about posting news lately. Let's catch up!
1) A Gurren Lagann illustration was on GAINAX's top page again last week! This time it was drawn by well-known fanartist Yukimitsu!
2) GAINAX will be holding the final Talk Live Animated event this month and the next. Only, this time they'll be holding it three times, in three different cities! The Fukuoka event will be on April 17th, the Osaka event will be on April 24th, and the Tokyo event on May 4th. They'll be showing and talking about Parallel Works 2 at these events so hopefully we'll get some news from the people who attend!
3) Gekijouban Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Shigoto Dama (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann The Movie Working Soul), a comprehensive book on the two movies, will be released on April 24th.
At about 200 pages, it will have: the early plot of the movies at the time of production (director's notes and etc), Kazuki Nakashima's first draft of the script for Lagann-hen, extensive mecha designs starting with the Tengen Toppa series (including rough concept sketches), all of the Countdown Illustrations, and more!
4) As for news in the USA, Aniplex America recently launched a website for the movies. Does this mean we'll be seeing a DVD release soon? Or at least more theatrical screenings? Is Bandai Entertainment still involved? Will the movies be dubbed eventually? Aniplex will be holding a panel at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo this weekend (where they'll also be showing both movies), so maybe we'll find out then?
