I do not understand how anyone can think that running is a nice way to work out. In my mind, it is the most boring way to get in shape. Yes, I know it is the best type of work-out you can do, and that it is the only kind that works out every single inch of your body, but honestly...who would want to go through that many hours of self-torture?
So, after the doubles tournament in tennis today, I went running on the tracks... Man, that was horrible... I had no intentions of lasting as long as I did, especially not with the heat we had today, or the lack of runnning experience I have had this year. I have never liked to run, and today was no exception. I just knew that I had to do it, or else I would be really out of shape for soccer this summer...
After running about five laps around the track, I was completely dead, and wanted to just call it the day and never set my foot on the field again. Screw soccer, who needs to be in shape anyways, right? But then I thought of the ice latte moccha swirl that I got from Dunkin Donuts today, and decided to run five more...
At first I thought that this was it, and that I was never going to be able to stand up again, but now, about 30 minutes after my "hard" workout, I feel kind of good about myself. I did it! Not that I ran very far or for a long period of time or anything, but for the first time since who knows, I'm pretty proud of myself. Maybe I'll even run some more tomorrow?
If anyone wants to join me, feel free, 'cause running alone is probably the worst thing I've ever done since signing up for web page with Mr. Adams...
