Geez, it's been a while!
Ok, so update for my lj friends who don't have facebook... and my facebook friends as this will appear in my notes...
I've been in DC now for just under 1 year. May 22 will be my first year anniversary... as of June 16, I will have been at NCSS for one year...and as of July 1st, I get a raise in pay and vacation time at my job! YAY.
My boss is leaving and I have to take over her spot for a while until we get a new person hired. I hope that the new person is nice, because Ella is a GREAT boss. I'm going to be a busy bee this year. In January I am going to start applying for a new job. Go from a conference service coordinator to a jr. planner or something...I am also joining PCMA which is a meeting planners organization which is exciting! I can even go to conferences and meet other planners!
I am currently looking for another apartment as our lease is up on September 9th...Me and jaker are hoping to move into DC maybe into Adams Morgan or Union Station area. As jake says "we're young and should live in dc, close to the bars and young people". Sure it's more expensive there, but it would be nice to live in DC and close to all the monuments, stores, and star bucks on every corner. Actually, it may work out that if we pay less then $100 more we'd get a MUCH bigger apartment.
I have some fun summer plans in the works...In June, MI, July, NY or Chicago, August MI and FL, September, MI for Homecoming! Bye bye monies..but i think it's worth it to have some fun.
The Hilton is going well. Working only Friday night and Saturday. I like having atleast sunday off. It makes things alot easier. Jake is prolly going to quit, but thats ok...Maybe in a month or so, I'll quit, but I have fun there and meet alot of random people. Plus the new managers (2 of them) are pretty cool so it makes life alot easier.
I don't know what's up with my authors lately...I live in MI and everyone is stopping in DC...I move to DC and everyone is stopping MI...Geez, they need to get back to DC! Also, Harry Potter 7 is coming out and their are like NO release parties...I mean sure there is the normal at Borders or B&N, but the big parties are not being advertised...Last year, there was Spellbound, and they took over a mall and have 1000's of people...I mean this is book 7! WTF! Me and Shawntae are thinking that because it's the last book they are not planning anything because everyone and their brother would come out for it and they couldn't control the crowd. Mugglenet is the biggest HP site and they aren't even giving us HP party news and last year they co sponsored the event Spellbound!
My cousin's wife Ang, is going to have her baby by May 22...I am so excited...I can't wait to see what the baby looks like and say hi! Nick is going to be so funny as a dad because he is such a big baby..lol.. He's used to having things on his schedule and a baby will not ALLOW that... Plus he likes Ang to come sit with him at B&N while he studies...the baby might be to loud sometimes for that..
