My Christmas Break!
Oh, how I miss college where Christmas break was like three weeks..Now it was only three days of fun along with 22 hours of continuous driving...
On Friday we left at 6PM and it was raining in DC through the beginning of PA. This slowed us down quite abit. We ended up playing the ABC game on the Highway and 20 questions.. Jake is really bad at the game because his Yes and NO answers are never direct.
Me:is it made of Wood?
Jake: It's a derivative of wood.
Me: What?
We pulled into Jen's about 5 am or so and crashed for three hours until 8! Then we had a very nice breakfast made by Jen's mom and headed the last 3 hours to Grand Rapids for Jake's VanWoerkom Xmas party. Which was really fun and I got all their addresses for the wedding in like 5 minutes! Then we got a few last minute presents and headed back to Jake's dads for a 2 hour nap! Then we woke up and went to dinner with Jake's parents at Applebees! Then over to see Aiden and play with him!
On Sunday we had X-mas with Jake's parents and brother Timmah. Jake's dad got us cash (lol) which I liked. Jake's mom got me oven mitts, a dish towel, and a potato peeler which I needed desperately! We had dinner and Jake's dad got drunk on the wine we brought. We watched Invincible then headed to Flint around 9:15PM.
On Monday, we woke up had french toast and got ready for the Xmas party at my aunts. The party was alot of fun and the food was pretty good. My mom's usually amazing potatos didn't turn out and she was really upset, but other then that it was good. lol. Then we went to a 9:45PM movie with my friend Joe who had to work Tuesday so it was the only time I would get to see him. We saw Night at the Museum which was very funny.
Then on Tuesday, we went to breakfast with my mom, grandpa, and cousin chris. Then we packed the car with our stuff and said goodbye to the cute puppies! Then visited Mrs. Soth for a bit and headed to Mongolian BBQ where we had lunch with Lindsey Mickels, Shawntae, Becca, Mikey B, Jen and her nephew Josh, and my Mom! It was really nice to see everyone. Then we headed back home.
It took us about 9.5 hours to get home which was 24 minutes more then Mapquest said, but that ok. We pulled in around 4AM and unpacked and cleaned the car. Then we went to sleep for a bit. And now I am at work exhausted and waiting for 5PM to go home and go to bed!
I LOVE MY FRIENDS! On friday a bunch of people are coming so we are going to be very busy. Then the next week, Shawntae is coming so we have about two weeks until we can be lazy.
PLus all our spending ends after the 7th...Wedding saving begins in full force for the next 5 months!
