Kibum was sick. He was aching all over and the last thing he wanted to do was roll out of bed to work. So he called in sick and they gave him a day off. He fell asleep promptly after that.
The next time Kibum woke up, it was to pots crashing in his kitchen. His head was heavy with fever as snuck out of the room. He could see a figure in his kitchen, rummaging through the cabinets. With an umbrella poised over his head, he burst into the kitchen ready to attack the intruder, when they turned to face him.
Donghae’s eyes were wide with surprise at the umbrella over Kibum’s head, but his lips were pulled into a wide grin.
“What are you doing?” They asked at the same time.
“Cooking! I heard you were sick so I came to take care of you.”
Kibum put his umbrella down. “How did you get in?”
Donghae ignored the question, pressing a hand to Kibum’s flushed face instead. “Gosh! You’re burning up! You should get in bed.”
He was pushed into his room, shoved into his bed, and tucked in before he could say another word. Donghae left him with one last kiss to the forehead. Kibum grimaced and sighed wearily before drifting off.
He woke again, hours later to the smell of soup. Donghae had placed everything on a silver tray, bringing it in so he could eat it in bed.
“Henry said that eating chicken soup is good for colds.”
“Did you really make it?” Kibum asked disbelievingly as he took a nervous sip from the bowl. Who knew Donghae could cook?
Donghae averted his eye and nodded. Kibum would find the takeout containers in his trash when he got up anyways. There was no harm in taking the credit just once.
