Routines

Apr 19, 2012 10:15

Get up. Check Midnight for signs of life. Drink coffee.  Think about eating.  Take M to bus stop. If necessary, take S to train stop. Return home. Think about eating. Occasionally eat something. Check Midnight for signs of life. Check meds spreadsheet.  Get meds ready. Dose dog. Sometimes it's 3 pills, sometimes it's 4. Get IV ready. Heat water in bowl to warm fluid bag. Get sharps ready. Get injection ready. She's getting silver injections 2x a day because she had a bad reaction to the Baytril. Seizures. Three. It wasn't fun. Give Midnight 1/3 bag SubQ fluids. Pet her, feel her warmth. Check eyes. Apply drops if needed. Let her sleep. Get her outside to pee before she has an accident. Try to pay attention to Sammy. Give lots of treats and hugs. Pay attention to cat.

[the rest of the day, with its various demands]

Pick M up from bus stop. Try to will food on table for dinner magically; fail. Resort to more mundane measures. Check Midnight for signs of life, get her outside to pee if possible. Feed cat. Check spreadsheet. Prepare meds and sharps. Heat fluids bag. Somehow get dinner prepared in the midst of everything else. Give SubQ fluids. Pet her, feel her warmth. Check eyes. Try to clean at least one area of the house. Check on M to see if homework is done. Try not to be impatient with S when he gets home and demands more of me. Get Midnight outside to pee. Check schedule for tomorrow. Check email. Get M to bed. Put a doggy diaper on Midnight for the night so she doesn't have an overnight accident. Fall into bed.

Repeat.
