Dahlonega seemed really cool when I was a kid in the 80s, but the last time I was there (2006, maybe?) it just seemed like any other town, for the most part...though a lot of towns in that region have lost their charm.

I can't imagine any scenario would bring that up on a date. Well, unless I was trying to end it quickly. But then, in my case, it would probably backfire and the other person would go "really, I could use some of that RIGHT NOW."

I lived up there for a short time (my sister went to NGCSU and I spent some time living with her... although I can't remember the exact reason why). It's kind of a boring town with nothing to do, although we did get a lot of sneers and heckles from the country bumpkins up there. I guess it passed for entertainment.
