I had a nice Christmas spent at Aileen and Rory's place. Three other people were there, including
draconisregena. Gifts were exchanged, dogs were played with, and a nice time was had, including a two hour nap in the afternoon for me. Lots of food was eaten, much of it supplied by Kate.
Had a nice time last night as well. I went to see Sweeny Todd with Aileen. Lots of gratuitous throat slitting with spurting blood. The bouncing bodies were also a light touch (tongue firmly in cheek). It was really well done, especially by Depp. After the movie, I went to Aileens house and watched with her and Rory a movie called Eastern Promises, with Viggo Mortensen (sp?). Another very good movie. Was greatly amused when early in the movie, was entertained by yet another throat slitting in a barber shop. : ) Guess it was just a night for psychotic barbers. Anyway, there was a GREAT fight scene with a totally nude Viggo, no shots pulled. Lets hear it for equal opportunity nudity. It was a good, if dark, movie, and I recommend seeing it.
After leaving Aileen's, went to Wal Mart for groceries. After I left the parking lot, I heard a "whump whump whump" as I drove home, and the car felt like it pulled to the left. After parking the car at home, I looked and found a flat left rear tire. Great. Not much I can do about it at two in the morning. This put me in a foul mood, since I have to go to work tonight, and it's the weekend, and I wasn't sure who would be open and when. Fortunately, Baird's auto sent out the tow truck and the guy just changed the tire for me with the spare. Glad I didn't try to change it myself. The guy had a little trouble getting the tire off, and he's stronger than I am. He recommended getting a new tire at Wal Mart. : ) I called, and they were able to take me right away. So just before 10am, I drove away from Wal Mart a second time today, this time with a new tire. The other one had a leak around the air stem, and driving on it lead to sidewall damage, so it wasn't repairable. I feel better now, but I can tell I'm under stress, because I was WAY over stressed by a simple flat. I guess I was worried about possible damage from driving on a flat, but there wasn't any, thank goodness, other than to the tire itself. Was also concerned about getting to work and back. But it's OK, now.
