This has been one of the more memorable birthdays in a while. Don't know if I'll remember it the same next year (or even in six months).
It started on Sunday when the Better Half baked a totally from scratch German Chocolate Cake.
On Tuesday. Erik helped remove the dead heat pump and dispose of it. Properly. Took it to the Edmund Landfill and paid the disposal fee. I'm assuming the county really does have someone that removes the Freon. Afterwards we stopped by his place and changed into fresh clothes and headed to Wings'n'Ale to shoot some pool and have dinner. We were joined by Nate and Joe and Amanda. A fun time was had by all.
Thursday headed to the
Zoo with Melissa. Actually, we went the the
Botanical Gardens on the other side of the river from the Zoo. It was a warm day (91 degrees F) and after 3 hours and 547 pictures (just mine - Melissa took a bunch also) we headed to lunch. Then Mann Tool - bought her and Joe some fold-able shelf brackets. Had a good time there looking at the exotic woods. One large slab was priced at about $1500.
Received a whole bunch of birthday wishes on Facebook.
For those curious about the pictures I took at the Botanical Gardens, you can look at the
'artsy' picture page or the
normal picture page (different pictures on each page*). So far I've only gone through the picture on one camera (438). There's another 109 from the other camera on the other computer I still have to go through and post**.
It's now a while later, and the remainder of the pictures have been posted. Not all 547, just the better ones.***

* These are the picture pages listed to the right of this post. The links above take you to the relevant sections - the links to the right take you to the beginning of the pages in case you want to check out my other pictures.
** Doesn't everyone have more than one camera and more than one computer? Asks the person who does not yet have a cell phone.
*** The assumption is that you realize that my definition of 'better' and yours may not match.
