A full Markland day.

Spent the better part of the morning doing the annual Lansdale Mardi Gras parade. Andrew and I were House Black Moon participants, and Nicky from the group formerly know as OCC joined us as well. HVD, as usual, put up good numbers and we all had a great time. Not too cold this year, but I dressed accordingly anyway and stayed quite warm.

Later in the evening was a practice up at Shana's place. It's an indoor horse ring, so lots of sawdust, but lighting and some protection from the weather as well as high ceilings and tons of space. Joel and Andrew attended as well. Joel did well as always and Andrew did remarkably well for a first time archer. I'm getting a really good feeling about us as a flanking unit. If Andrew and Joel continue to improve, we can really start making an impact on the field next Spring. Now if we could just get Scott and Keshet in on the mix.... things could really take off. Enthusiasm for me is quite high right now. I never imagined that we'd come this far so fast.

On bad note, I'm a breaker of fighters apparently. My greatsword made Dan leave the field after a shot from me broke his shield handle and twisted his wrist. Later, my spear badly bruised Jill when an armor malfunction became apparent. I felt so bad for her. It was not my intention of making her cry. So it kinda was a bad evening for HVD. But it did bring up one point: they need to update their gear.

As for our group, I think overall we did well tonight. Can only hope it continues.
