OMG TEH ANGST!
Well, I just got done thoroughly depressing my British lit class with my presentation on Thomas Hardy. I loved Tess of the D'Urbervilles, and his poetry is really good, but DAMN that's some depressing writing.
So, as I walked sabinelagrande part-way to her next class, we tried to decide what Hardy would write if he were alive today. By our best guess, he would start in Inuyasha fandom, but never really get fame (because everyone's angsty there). Eventually he would move on to Cowboy Bebop and write the most depressing "Spike is dead" angst-fics ever. He might drabble in Hellsing, but only about how the poor depressed vampires can't escape their fate. Finally, he would write a fic about Spike angsting over Julia, get flamed by fangirls for breaking up their OTP, leave the fandom in a dramatic post where he swears to never again write Bebop fic, and return to Inuyasha. There he will spend the rest of his life writing angsty ficlets.
I should probably have my head examined.
