A blank slate

I've been inspirationally dry for days. I've had nothing to write. I draw massive intellectual blanks when I try to formulate interesting rants. Funny ideas are constantly and ephemerally floating through my brain, but they vanish at the keyboard. I am wordless. Beyond that, theres nothing behind the wordlessness. Woo, journal surfing. anonymous December 6 2004, 03:05:11 UTC
When I'm in need of inspiration, I enjoy going journal surfing.
Simply reading others' online journals can really stir up emotions, believe it or not.
Not to mention, there's a wide variety of reading material to choose from:
-You could go for the crazy, "my life sucks" journal.. then just copy, paste, and massacre. Ah, how I love criticizing "emo" individuals.
-It's not too hard to find entries written by the ignorant. Perhaps attempting to read journals such as those will make you feel extremely intelligent, as well as supply a few laughs. I don't know about you, but comedy almost always puts me in the writing mood.
-On the flip side, there's always a few intellectual journals out there (although they are hard to come by). Reading those may cause you to go into Deep-Thinker Mode, then you should have no trouble at all writing a nice intelligent entry of your own.
-You could always resort to "The Best Page In The Universe" (aka: http://maddox.xmission.com/) There's always something interesting to read about there, maybe that'll cause some inspiration.

If journal surfing doesn't work, I don't know what will. But we all know the LiveJournal Golden Rule; If you don't have anything good to write, DON'T WRITE IT.
Maybe a nice vacation from your LiveJournal will do you good (not to mention, I'm sure your avid readers will be dying with anticipation until your next entry..)
So, I wish you the best of luck with your Writer's Block.

-Sara
