i got back from chicago yesterday to crazy humidity and finally finally finally RAIN. a week in chicago was like a week on the beach: necessary to recharge (to say nothing of the three babes i was in bed with). thank you home base.
i finished Emma on the train back and it was everything that is wonderful and Jane Austin but I was sad to find myself rather too jaded and critical to be swept away by Knightly and Emma. Doesn't compare to Lizzy and Darcy in Pride and Prejudice in 8th grade until 3am but still oh so charming. THANK YOU ALEX I WILL SEE YOU SOON! (and sorry I haven't called you back, things are really crazy. Same to joc)
Dad's coming to get me today. We leave for MD tomorrow morning. I'm going to try to convince him to stop at Falling Waters on our way through Pittsburgh. And that's it for Ann Arbor. I don't expect coming back to visit before I leave so that means I won't be back till august '06. I've decided to shrug off lingering nostalgia and look forward to the year ahead of me so fare thee well
