Little tomato says to the big tomato. . . . let's catch up.

Its been a few weeks since I last posted. I just feel like people are sick of the whole "I live in New York now", which is all that pretty much goes on in my life. So if I make a really big post about living in New York its a lot easier for you all skip over it.
Enough with the self-deprecation. Wendi has been here for a week and it has been amazing. I had to work for the first couple of days that she was here. Here are a few obnoxious pictures of work.
One of the first days that I worked when Wendi got here Edie Falco came into the store. It was really cool meeting her. I gave her the best customer service I could muster. Unfortunately I only talked to her about hardware. The week before that Famke Janssen came into the store. Steve Nash, Robert DeNiro and James Gandolfini have also made appearances in the Tribeca neighborhood. Now Wendi and I have had a few days of tooling around the city together and I think we are both adjusting to our new life pretty well. We went to see the Henry Darger exhibit at the American Folk Art Museum on Wednesday. It was the first time that I have been to that Museum and the first time that I have seen a Henry Darger drawing in person. The show was amazing. The Museum was quite cool. We also saw a master Wood carver named Asa Ames who lived in Michigan for a while. We went out to Coney Island this weekend for the last week of Astroland. Its this amusement part that sort of defines the skyline of Coney Island. A private development company bought it and wants to tear it down. Last weekend was supposed to be the last time it was going to be open now Mayor Bloomberg says that he would like to see Astroland continue. I don't know whats going to happen now. Here are some pictures of us on the way to Coney Island and Ryan and Nicole eating at Nathan's Famous Hotdogs.
Living in Harlem is quite a culture shock. I think I have mentioned this before. One of the things that made me feel like I really lived here was going to our block's summer block party. They blocked off the whole street and had music and BBQs all day. It was a lot of fun and we had a chance to meet some of out neighbors. This was the weekend before Wendi got here. I had to work most of the day but I got here just before the sun went down.
