I am sitting at work on a Saturday. Its kind of slow. Luckily I brought in my base stations so I could have wifi at work today. Its more of a clubhouse than an actual job. There are sprawling drawings on doors and tabletops. We always have somebody's ipod on the speakers. In general its not a challenging job. Ironically, I have never been paid more to work anywhere in my entire life.
Last week I was back in Michigan for my mom's wedding. The first part of the week I spent in West Michigan. Mainly in Grand Haven and a night out in Grand Rapids. It was good to see Wendi and all of the other Michigan folks but it was just too soon to go back to Michigan. It made living in New York seem like a vacation.
My new stepfather is rarely seen without a beer in his hand. He also has a pretty awesome mustache.
At the altar. I can't see their hands but I'm sure that they don't have beers in their hands.
Had to stop at the Green Hut for a pint between the ceremony and reception.
Looks like Tom might have had a few between the wedding and the reception as well.
I refused to take off my suit coat because I paid too much for the damn suit not to wear it all day. Needless to say with a non-air conditioned hall I spent a lot of time outside getting a breath of air. We talked a lot to Michigan congressman Jim Barcia. His wife is an old friend of our families'. Its funny because he told us dirty jokes and seemed really interested that we live in Harlem. Not the smoozy, fake politician you would expect somebody like that to be.
A customer just came in and brought us some cookies to eat. Homemade chocolate chip. Only an hour to go now.
