A while ago, someone brought up the idea of a crossover between Supernatural and the incomparable Lemony Snicket books, A Series of Unfortunate Events. I was intrigued by the possibilities presented by some kind of intersection between the worlds of the unlucky Baudelaire orphans - inventive Violet, clever Klaus, sharp-toothed Sunny - and our own ( Read more... )

I haven't even read this yet - I just had to comment immediately because -

Oh, god. LMFAO.

For Mary.
Our passion burned with the fire of a thousand suns. Then you did.

Oh, my god, I haven't laughed that hard in a WHILE.

I'm off to read. Even if the rest of this sucks (which I'm thinking it won't), the entire thing was worth it for the dedication. *chuckles*

Edited- I read it, and loved it. Absolutely brilliant, and from what little I know about Lemony Snicket, completely dead-on. Loved it.

The dedication was actually the very first thing I wrote when I was starting this. :D Glad you liked it!

Oh, this was wonderful! I love how well the Lemony Snicket narrative style works for the Winchesters.

It does seem to suit them, doesn't it? Poor put-upon boys.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

That was amazing. Seriously. You managed to capture the style ASoUE, which I imagine would be difficult, and make it work for Supernatural and it's genius. Everything about this is love.

I'm a HUGE Series of Unfortunate Events fan and I have to say that the writing style of this fic is absolutely perfect. Sentence structure, phrases, characters, wording... everything is exactly the way it should be.

Best thing I've read in ages.

Fantastic job. :D

Oh, thank you! This is really reassuring. When I was writing this, I was pretty sure everyone who'd read ASoUE was going to burn me at the stake. (Would now be an inappropriate time for a Jacques Snicket joke? Yes? Damn.)

Anyhoo, I'm glad my pale imitation has passed muster. Thanks for your comment!

That was really masterfully done - and the incongruity between the narrator's voice and Dean's dialogue was delicious.

Oh, Dean. You can dress him up, but you can't take him out. :D Thank you!
