Jesus is 'Effin Metal

I'm in the process of compiling some metal songs for a single CD that I intend to take to work and drive my fellow workers nuts. You see, three or four of the other folks that are in wicked early generally monopolize the radio with songs that were popular when they were young, and I promise you, that was a long time ago. It's a lot of the stuff ( Read more... )

Ina gada Davida - Iron Butterfly
Raining Blood - Man of War

That's what the bf suggests so far. I'm too sleepy to think of any right now.

Clearly, Bob, you did not read the "Bob Disclaimer" section of the post. Regardless, I disagree with your first four assessments, although you may be right about Manowar. For some reason I almost felt obligated to include them though...

PS: It's Maiden, noob. Not Madian. =p

I'll try to think of other stuff while I'm at work today. But there should be Queensryche.

Danzig - "Mother" is officially in, and I am ashamed of myself for not adding it in the first place.

Newly up for consideration is:
Fear Factory - "Demaufacture", "Slave Labor", or "Zero Signal"
Twisted Sister = "We're Not Gonna Take It"

Arch Enemy Bob? A good band, but I was planning on leaving the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Arch Enemy and Cradle of Filth out of the mix...I may get lynched at work for using them, and that sounds like a whole other CD anyway.

Oh really? And what is the closest comparison you would make, almighty master of acoustics? Besides, Jesus wouldn't cry, you know he'd throw up the horns.

As fas as System of a Down goes, I'd suggest "Sugar" or "Qbert" ("Cubert," maybe) rather than Toxicity.

"Pull Me Under" by Dream Theater is a good one. Not sure how metal it is, but it rocks. A lot.
