last night we caught a gigantic killer spider in our house. it was probably 1.5 inches long (including legs) and had a pretty fat body. we scooped him up into a cup and threw him in skiba's cage. shortly thereafter me and joey witnessed the fight of a lifetime. skiba had come down from the top of his cage, he's in the front right corner. and in the front left corner is his goal, spider. skiba makes the first move, shimmying along the front of the cage at ground level, very cautious. and then it happens. skiba stabs at the spider with his powerful front claws. the spider freaks out and starts squirming everywhere, but he is no match for skiba. within a matter of seconds, the spider is trapped between skiba's left claw, his body being pinched in half. the spider's legs were so long that they were all wrapped up in skiba's face and legs and whatnot. so what does skiba do? he eats the legs first. and then starts feasting on the body. i didn't view it all, the spider was so big it took skiba a while to get it down. but nonetheless, it is gone today. and once again, i have been more amazed by our pet mantis than ever before.
we also had a killer halo night last night. we linked two xbox's and played against the best player in kentucky, literally. he supposedly won the state tournament. and when i say it was a killer halo night i mean i was the one being killed. everyone on my team actually. we got so slaughtered it became boring.
prior to the halo tournament, my mom payed a visit. she brought all kinds of goodies for the house.
i keep forgetting about things that happened. monday night tom, joey, and i decorated the kitchen some more. we got it almost completely done. there are some awesome pictures leah took on the wall now. everyone should stop by and check it out.
tonight the excuse will be finishing up their acoustic e.p., which will be available at shows for a buck or something. it will contain three songs. two new acoustic songs and an acoustic version of one of the songs off the cd. so everyone pick it up when you get the chance.
also, in the near future, tom and i will begin collaboration on our techno side project.
last night i viewed the beheading of american nick berg. i have permanantly been damaged by that video. it totally caught me off guard. so i would advise the softer stomached individuals to not watch it at all. but for others, it is a must see. almost certain to have you thinking the rest of the night. and possibly could give you some crazy nightmares.
