Rep. Ed Merkey and the FDA is trying to take away your right to choose what pills you buy over the counter, and what services you employ with your own money.
If you buy any pills that has not been approved by the FDA, those pills could and probably would be pulled off of the shelves if this FDA passes their "Guidance for Industry on
Complementary and Alternative Medicine Products and Their Regulation by the Food and Drug Administration draft".(

The draft defines four areas that will be under control of the FDA, and be banned at their discretion if it passes.
1. Biologically Based Practices
Including:
"botanicals, animal-derived extracts, vitamins, minerals, fatty acids,
amino acids, proteins, prebiotics5and probiotics: whole diets, and "functional foods".'"
Almost everyone I know takes something on this list. Do you?
Maybe not soon...
2. Manipulative and Body-Based Practices
Including:
"chiropractic and osteopathic manipulation, massage therapy, Tui Na, reflexology, rolfing, Brown
technique, Trager bodywork, Alexander technique, Feldenkrais method"
Go to a chiropractor or massage therapy?
If this passes, it could be illegal.
3. Mind-Body Medicine
Including:
"relaxation, hypnosis, visual imagery, meditation, yoga, biofeedback, tai
chi, qi gong, cognitive-behavioral therapies, group support, autogenic training, and
spirituality."
That covers a lot of vague territory!!
Do you like how a vague spirituality is thrown in at the end?...does that mean that the FDA will have jurisdiction over whether you can get healed by GOD or not?!
So long freedom of religion along with freedom of choice!
and
4. Energy Medicine
Includes:
"Veritable energy fields, which can be measured and use either mechanical
vibrations (such as sound) or electromagnetic forces, including visible
light, magnetism, monochromatic radiation (such as laser light), and other
light rays"
How would all these services and products be approved?
"The PHS Act requires individuals or companies who manufacture biologics for introduction into interstate commerce to hold a license for the products. These licenses are issued by CBER."
Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) is the Center within FDA that regulates biological products for human use under applicable federal laws, including the Public Health Service Act and the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
This center will have the authority on what you can or cannot buy!
You want vitamins or minerals?
NO! They've been pulled off the shelves!
Time for Yoga class, a group meeting for support, or church?
Sorry, it is indefinitely postposted pending an FDA investigation whether the government thinks it's good for you or not!
If you are concerned after reading this, you're probably wondering what you can do about this. Will the FDA listen to us citizens who it is supposed to be working for?
Or is it only beholden unto itself?
How do you stop a juggernaut like the FDA, which holds no votes by the people for what actions it, takes?
Well I researched if the FDA does have any oversight, and I found out they definitely do.
More than that, I also found out that the FDA is being prodded into this action by one of our own Congressman.
Rep. Edward J. Markey who is a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), sent a letter to the FDA
(
http://markey.house.gov/docs/health/Letter%20-%20To%20FDA%20re%20unapproved%20drugs%2010-11-06.pdf) basically calling them into action to pass this draft which can make it illegal to practice your beliefs and buy what you want regarding your health and spirituality under their say so.
Now I know for sure that Rep. Edward J. Markey is beholden to the people, because we vote him in!
I propose to send this to as many people as you know through email or other means, telling them not to support any of the congressmen in the next election which are on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and write to them telling them what they think about this new FDA draft.(

These people work for us!! We are not beholden to them!!
It's your choices which are up for grabs!
Under the provisions of the FDA Guidance for CAM Products and Regulation draft, we the people only have until April 30th to comment to them about this!
You can sent an electronic email to the FDA through this site:
