Son of the Morning Star

Apr 28, 2006 12:44

Those people who other people claim are 'more productive between 5am and 9am than most people are all day' have always been some of my favorite people. I can be a morning person if I get to bed on time. Getting up in the morning, is that all it takes? But is it cheating if you don't 100% go to bed? Or is that bonus points?
I got to live this out today in a way. My homework plan from last night went pretty ok and this morning I did a whole bunch of running around and hands on work for the Adolescent Lit survey Reg, Peter, Adam and I are doing. And some miscellaneous stuff. (like singing along to Jack's Mannequin).
I was almost running late yesterday morning when I got up so I shot straight up and was attentive. Though I was supernaturally tired in JMC for some reason. Didn't I fall asleep by like 10:30 on Wednesday? How is 8 hours not enough? And during SS when we were looking at videos in the slide room I was drifting off hardcore. Julie had to nudge me. Was kind of ok for the rest of the day. Or did I fall asleep in Art History as well? I don't remember if Claudio had to nudge me there as well. lol. Maybe I was shocked awake by the giant giant bowl of ice cream I got from the Flour Shop under the moniker of 'two scoops'. The shift leader actually scolded the employee for doing it and I felt bad cuz she was being nice of her own volition.

Did GD work on my lanterns (of course) for three hours last night from 12:30 till 3:30. I called Nate at 3 and he said Nick had left a while ago, but then they were on the phone so he'd be over in a bit. I was fine cuz I was finishing up being on a roll. Though, clearly Joan will see my work and sigh like a sexually disatisfied housewife.
I was at the same table as some guy who was really proper in his speaking and all polite and shit. I really can't remember how he phrased things. But we took turns watching each others' stuff on bathroom breaks. And when I was packing up he said to have a good day and we engaged in small talk. I told Nate that he was attractive in the way that the mascot for MAD magazine would be attractive... were he attractive and light brown curly haired. That was the best I could offer.

Back at Nate's he showed me some super ghetto shirt he won off the radio, right off the DJ's back as per advertised. It was that line between trendy and ghetto. A.K.A. shiny.
He played Devil May Cry 3 and I looked through a Beatles 1 CD booklet. There were many humourous comments to be made about the game as well. It was freaky nostalgic cuz the last time I did something like this with Nate was grade school with Metal Gear Solid. When we had our bouts in high school with Tetris Attack and Yoshi's Island, which were themselves ROM revivals of games we played as kids, we took turns so it is different.
I lied (layed, laid? never did get that straight) down to nap for a bit. Giles was all over me. At one point licking my neck and I knew it was him but I coudln't jar myself awake and I was aware yet paralyzed. Funny odd. I slept very soundly, shortly, and ultimately enough to rejuvenate me. Luckily I was awake in time to see Nate beat some phantom opera bitch and get a sparking guitar weapon that was so awful and tacky and late 80s. My mocking actually illicted some "ok stop making fun of my game"s but it was totally in the good way.
The past couple times I've seen Nate have all been really enjoyable because we have some new found synergy that I've really beeng loving on the whole.
No, I can't really think of a more de-vagued way of saying it so you'll just have to take my word on it.

I had called Tom at midnightish to till him that I was for sure going for the long haul and he said he'd call me around 7am. He did so Nate and I went to go pick him up and go to George Webbs.

Ok, just wanted to get to logical stopping point. I started writing this at noon thirtyish. And then took break for eating and a nap so that my eyes wouldn't be drooping off my face at work. Um... time to go take a shower. And might I just point out how excited I am that Vince and Will are apparently back together again on Will & Grace. I think I just found a new reason for living. :)
