Push It All Aside

Feb 07, 2006 20:12

I don't recall much of interest happening over the weekend at work. I did table on Saturday and pricing/donations on Sunday.
Saturday I went out into the store fairly early to take care of stuff.
Sunday I went out later on.
Blah blah blah.
I'm sure Rasmin said something stupid sounding that I rebuked him for. As always.
But then I lent him a dollar.
And on Sunday I asked nicely and he gave me half of his hot veggie from Cousins cuz he didn't really want it.
Saturday, Rasmin and I were out in the store and JJ joined us. He walked up to me and asked "What do you want me to do?"
Yeah, that's right. Feel the power.
Now if only Albert weren't so hard to work with because he's scattered and throws off my rhythm when doing door.
Mostly because he establishes no rhythm.
Alternately, but not really, there was a return to form when on Sunday morning JJ and I made a variety of sexual references about items while we priced.
He listens to very straight music like the Top Gun and Rocky soundtracks.
I do not.
I spent time wrapping up some fake flowers in a bouque.
One of the wire frames inside the leaves cut my finger.
Hiss.
Sunday night's close was atrocious beacause everyone threw away stuff that needed to be put out still.
And then took all the clothes on the ground/slung over the sales racks, and threw them away instead of hanging them.
Or at LEAST salvaging them.
I blame this on their laziness. And the fact that Josh wasn't around to straighten them because he left early.
I fixed women's shirts but everything else met their fate in the compactor.
Boo.

I aksed Dion if Scotty said anything about returning my Relient K CD. He didn't understand at first.
Then changed his response to the effect of 'scotty doens't know where it is'.
Seriously. He owns like 15 CDs. How did he lose it?
He told me to call him. I said it woulnd't work. Why? Why?, did you not pay attention last time?
Sigh. I'm never getting that shit back but I really want it back. Like now.

Monday I came in early so that I could look at all our books. I almost got a book that was one of Oprah's of-the-months. But found it too thick.
Got two shortish mysteries. One by Agatha Christie, one endorsed by her.
Got an ice blue case for my iPod that is fun.
Work went on forever and seemed forever more (quoth the raven) because of the two hours of sleep thing.
A Mountain Dew on lunch break was surprisingly boosty.
We had to push everything, EVERYTHING, in the warehouse ont one side so that they could seal the floor with some such.
And when they came to do the warehouse they decided to do the stoor as well.
So close went an extra 45 minutes because Josh, Heather, Nate, and Kip had to push all the clothing racks in the store into one corner. And everything else not bolted to the ground. Yeah. It's always fun. I was sweeping meanwhile.
Brian propelled Josh across the floor in a wheelchair. Like, really fast.
"I'm a cripple!" He shouted.
I almost died of laughter. You'd have to have heard his tone.
Kip tried on a leather shirt and then put on some leather pants he found.
And walked up on Stef who was talking to Anjana (by to visit, it is her home after all) and a floor cleaning guy.
No, Kip, Stef will not have sex with you actually. Now stop propositioning her.
Hey guys, how many Goodwill employees does it take to load a dresser?
Four. Four to lift and ... none to do nothing. Sort of.
Hey guys, how many Russians does it take to treat a floor?
Seven. One to push the machine. Five to stand around folding their arms. And one to micromanage the arm folding.
I'd say that's enough for now.

At home I talked to Allie about what happened. And dreaded doing my Sequence and Structure project as it is about my relationship with Nate.
Celebrating it and it's long lastingness and importance to me.
.......
Not that it isn't still true, but it's not really what I'm feeling on the surface right now.
Hence.... dread.
And staring.
And boo.
But today I got a handle on it and made some progress and final decisions.
Now all I need is to romance the print lab.

This entry isn't about anything cool, but it gets my new cool icon. Because.
I made it in December and didn't decided to add it till now. Ben chose this version of it.
I also brightened the flower in my Relient K icon.
