the NYU Graduate Students decided to go on strike this week because the University decided not to renew their union's contract. So people are picketing in front of buildings, teachers are moving classes to off-campus locations or cancelling them all together, the administration still refuses to cooperate and, despite their assurances that there wouldn't be disruptions, there way are. I've actually missed two Japanese classes because of that, and have a kanji quiz postponed (although we still have a test on monday, strike or not), which may never happen again, but was too hard to enjoy because I was too busy running around like a chicken without a head about everything else, not even being able to sleep late because i'm scanning the news and the internet for information about what's going on. While I sympathesize with the TAs, this whole situation is making me nuts and I just want everything to go back to normal.
I'd also like to mention that my dad's Aunt Anne passed away on Wednesday morning, so please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
