Boy, it's been a long time since I've dusted off this thing. I don't even know how I ended up here. I can't even begin to start to pick up where I left off. I hope everyone on my friends list still keeps up with these. There are certain things I can and can't say, so I'll try to catch up what I can.
As most of you know, I am in the Air Force. Not fully the operational Air Force, I'm still in training. But not Basic anymore, Tech school. I'm out in wonderful Monterey California. The job I'm doing is a complicated one, my classes last for 64 weeks. And I'm on week 4. Fun. But it's pretty much like a college campus: classes, books, tests, a library, dining hall, etc. We're just all in uniform and have to do military stuffs. And where I'm at is an Army Post, all branches are represented here, so it's a nice mix. It's really fun in class, I always keep quiet whenever stories of Basic Training (Boot camp) come up; we are so lovingly referred to as the "Chair Force." But it's all in good fun. The location is great, I'm only about an hour or so south of San Fran, so there's lots to do in the area (on weekends, when I do get spare time). I don't have a car yet, but I do have the 'friend with a car', so it's all good. It's defiantly fun to get out and hit the town. All my friends here are so young, 18-19, they really haven't "lived" yet. It's funny to see how a lot of them are reacting to living on their own and with such a huge life change.
I can defiantly say my life has changed for the better, and I have myself, and it shows. Some of my old habits still come out from time to time, but I have some really good friends here that help keep them in check. Most of my friends I've known since I got here, which was early February. It's strange, I've known them for such a short amount of time, but I feel closer to them than I have anyone else in my life. No offense to any of my old friends, of course. It's just what we've been through (Basic) and what we're going to do, we just ended up bonding faster. Monterey is lovely, ask me and I'll email you guys some pictures of my 'backyard'. If anyone is interested, send me your email and I'll add you to my mailing list. I send out a mass email to all my friends and family, keeping them updated with the goings on in my life. I'm still on my old AIM, Yahoo, and MSN names, so feel free to talk to me there. It's really hard to keep my thoughts straight here, so talk to me outside here and I'm much more clear on whats going on. Hope to hear from some of you soon.
