Saw the movie Sucker Punch yesterday. Gotta say, it was interesting for a movie about five girls in skimpy outfits fighting several armies from different genres. At the same time though, it was kind of hard to follow what was going on.
A good portion of the movie happened inside the mind of one of the characters. So the viewer had to try and see what was happening in reality and what was happening in fantasy. There was more to the movie then chicks fighting. But what that "more" was suppose to be was't straight forward and missed.
There were several things in the movie that I caught, but I'm sure there was also a lot that I did miss. For the simple reason that I couldn't tell if it was part of the fantasy or reality.
Like I said, interesting. Sucker Punch isn't a movie that makes you over think through the entire movie, but it's not a movie you can only half watch and still understand everything, either.
Over all, it was a worth watching movie. Fight scenes were over the top, but not unenjoyable because of it. Characters were flat or there to look pretty and nothing else. Storyline had thought put into it. A LOT of thought put into it.
Movie rating: 9 out of 10
Worth seeing in theaters.
