The Opening Ceremony
Well, since we went and saw The Mummy movie, we missed the first half hour of the opening ceremony. So we missed the cool drum count down (watched it on YouTube). But the rest of the ceremony was wonderful! I loved it! It was SO beautiful with all of the costumes, music, and performers. My favorite was the huge mountain and air picture that all of the athletes had to walk on. And the boxes, the Chinese printing boxes or what ever they were. That was just awesome, all of those boxes were operated by people. And then the lighting of the torch, simply beautiful.
Over all, I thought the Ceremony was wonderful. I look forward to the Olympics every two years, be it the summer or winter. Though the summer is my favorite. The whole concept of the Olympics is something that needs to be observed more often than just two weeks every two years. It's kind of like Christmas, only happens at a certain time and once it's over no one thinks about it again. Which is sad if you think about it for a moment. But then, it takes a big event to get people to come together.
I love watching the different countries compete in all of the different sports. And I love that BMX is now an Olympic sport.
