In Hana, where I was just staying for two days, there was one hotel, two restaurants, a baseball diamond, great hiking on the north side of haleakala, three or four horse farms and a bunch of fruit stands. Nothing else within three hours of driving. No internet access, no cell phone signal, only a few pay phones at the gas station. I got there and thought 'wow, I think this is the first tourist destination I've traveled to that doesn't have a starbucks nearby.' I walk into the hotel, guess what there is! Starbucks... I guess the funny thing is that my dad actually commented on it before I did.
