weekend
Rob's doing a gamer thing all weekend. I want to call it a "boy party" but he gets mad when I call it a "boy party." So I won't call it a "boy party" and I'll just call it his "gaming weekend." I can't remember the proper name. I just know it wasn't supposed to be "boy party." But "boy party" sounds so much better and makes me happier. So I'll just try to get it out of my system here as is evident by the fact that I have used the phrase "boy party" 6 times in this paragraph.
I wasn't supposed to see him from about 4 something yesterday until "late Sunday night" but one thing lead to another and I did end up seeing him last night and he actually came home at like 6:30 in the morning.
I was supposed to go out with the host's fiancee and another girl for dinner and a movie yesterday. Well I hadn't heard what the plans were so I went to Long John Silver's (yeah, I dunno. Just sometimes their "crappy" fish and chicken calls to me. So shoot me. And this weekend since Rob's at his "gay gamer gathering" Oh wait... I don't think that was the right term... but he wanted "gamer" in the title instead of "boy party" (*giggle*) anyway since he's AWAY, I get to do things for food that he normally doesn't like.) so I ate at LJS and while I was waiting on my food, Stephanie, the girl I was supposed to be hanging out with, called me and was like "Hey, I'm hungry so do you wanna go get something to eat with Jessica and me." And I'm like ummm... if you had called just 30 minutes earlier I would have totally been down. But I went to hang out with them like an hour later when they went to Outback. I just got a tea and they split cheese fries and crab cakes. I was totally stuffed though. And then we went over to the theater to see "Bride Wars." It was freaking SOLD OUT. Yeah. Chick flick. Sold out. I don't get it either. So then we talked and tried to figure out what we were going to do. Jessica decided she wanted to go home so Stephanie took Jessica home and I was elected to go to Blockbuster to rent a movie and bring it back to Stephanie's place since they have a projector (9' screen)
I rented "Forgetting Sarah Marshal" and "Burn After Reading." They were OK, neither were as good as I expected. But I definitely liked Sarah Marshal more than Burn.
Something kind of cool was that Stephanie's shy/antisocial cat cuddled with me all through Burn. It surprised her and Tommy since normally he doesn't even come out when there are othre people over, and if he does he usually keeps his distance.
The guys came up at one point 'cause I was parking them in and they needed to go get Taco Bell. So that's how I ended up seeing Rob even though I wasn't supposed to.
Consequently since we watched two movies I stayed up WAY later than I should have. Didn't get home until probably close to 1 and still had to be up for work today. But I fell asleep pretty quickly. I just didn't sleep very deeply or well because I was afraid of oversleeping. That and Rob wasn't there which I'm sure accounted for some of the poor sleep.
Then Rob showed up at like 6:45am. So we talked and stuff until I absolutely had to get up to go to work.
I went to work and it was blissfully slow. Though I did have some weird ass calls. and they were back to fucking back. The one call went straight through my lunch break. This woman's balance two weeks ago was almost exactly the same as today even though she'd had lots of transactions and deposits. The numbers just seemed odd. So we spent close to 30 minutes adding and subtracting trying to figure out what happened. We never did figure it out, but I'm sure she was just as tired of hearing me mumble as I added and subtracted as I was working on the problem and having my stomach growl. So she finally decided that on Monday she'll go into a branch and look at it. One thing I don't understand is I suggested to her she try Online Banking so she could look at the same thing (roughly) that we see, and maybe get an idea that way. But she said while she has the internet she doesn't want to have one more log in and password to remember.
Uh. WTF? Really, I don't find it that hard. Maybe its because I use the variations on the same thing for everything so it isn't that much more to remember. And personally, I'd rather keep track of things using the internet than always making phone calls. But she said this is the first time she's had a problem with checking things just over the phone so she didn't feel that it was necessary to do online banking.
Um. OK. whatever.
So I got off that call right when I was supposed to be coming back from lunch. I didn't really know what to do but I HAD to eat, and after that LONG call, I really needed that break. So I went ahead and took the full break anyway. Which meant that the last part of my day was really short but that's cool. So I went to lunch at 1:15, came back at 1:45 and got off work at 3.
When I got back on the phone at 1:45 I think it really was like my first call back I had a guy who said "Um. My account is really weird." and I was like.... um... "Your account is what, sir?" "Weird. My account is weird. I don't know what's going on."
He had been away for a week or something and my first thought was "damnit. This is going to be another LONG overdraft call." But he had been monitoring his account and had seen it go down to $500. But now his account was over $1000. Taking a quick glance through his activity there were several large things that hadn't posted to his account. His rental car for one, and his hotel room for another. So that'd definitely do it. They weren't even showing in pending items. I could see the authorizations on his card, but they had fallen off and gone back into the account.
So yeah. But the call didn't last that long. It was maybe 3 or 4 minutes just long enough for me to go "Well this is PROBABLY what happened." and that was good enough for him.
So on my way home from work, I drove through Arby's (one of my other "Rob hates this place so I have to wait until he's not with me to go there" indulgences) and after eating, fell asleep to wait to hear from Rob or Stephanie since there had been talk of me joining them for food later in the evening or just to hang out with Stephanie.
I slept several hours and now am awake and not really sure what to do with myself. I should play some Wii games since I know I have the TV uncontested. Or watch a movie that Rob isn't ever interested in.
I've been reading two new to me web comics. A Cat Comic, "Mows" and "Girls with Slingshots" I don't really know how to describe it. I like to go back to the beginning of comics I find interesting and try to read them from the beginning to the present then once I get 'caught up' I just look every day (or whenever they're updated)
Well I guess that's basically it. I'll either go back to web comics or I'll play some Order Up or Harvest Moon or something.
